William Holding Field,
Ashford Hill Road, Kingsclere, RG20 5NY

We are holding open evenings every Thursday in May. Where anyone can give it a try for free. No equipment is required just flat soled shoes or trainers. Everyone is welcome from ages 10 to 90+.

This week...

Kingsclere bowling club is a friendly, vibrant club based in the village of Kingslere on the Hampshire/Berkshire border.

Whether you are a beginner, have played for many years or just fancy something new, come down and have a look around.

Bowls is a very family friendly game. We run mixed teams and our members ages range from young to old. The season runs from April to the end of September but we run social events throughout the winter months.

Kingsclere Bowling Club welcomes new members.

If you are interested in joining us then please call in to the club on any evening or weekend during the summer, meet our members, watch a match, and have a drink whilst enjoying the action. You would be very welcome and we can arrange a “have a go” session for you.

Residents from North Hampshire and Berkshire have enjoyed playing outdoor bowls and socialising since the club was formed in 1935. The club is affiliated to Bowls England and Bowls Hampshire.

All ages are welcome. We are a privately owned club, managed and run by elected officials and committees. Members help out with the general running of the club such as assisting the ground staff, bar duties, club house cleaning, and preparing and serving light suppers and meals to visiting teams.

We enter various competitions for individuals, pairs, and teams for women, men, and mixed sexes. Teams play in the Basingstoke & District Bowling Association (BDBA), Whitchurch & District Bowling League (WDBL), Stan Hardman Mixed Triples League, and Bowls Hampshire competitions.

At weekends throughout the summer (May to September) we hold friendly club matches for everyone, regardless of their experience, for club trophies. Also, on some weekends we act as hosts for matches against visiting clubs from outside our area e.g. Portsmouth, Woolston, Hungerford, Kintbury, Thatcham, to name but a few. We then usually field teams to visit and play return matches at their venues. These are very enjoyable social events which include meeting old friends and making new ones.

Social events are also held during and outside the playing season such as skittles, race nights and bingo. In winter the club is open on some week nights for playing darts and pool, and bar refreshments.

Bowls is a sport for all. It can be played by all ages, abilities and sexes. It can improve your general health. It is not just a sport; you can enjoy a varied and active social life at the club. It is ideal for meeting new people, socialising and meeting new challenges.

Please enter your details here and someone will contact you.
